Reflexology to the Rescue!

We hope you had a wonderful summer despite the challenging times. We have been busy with treatments and training, and are looking forward to seeing many of you again this fall. Continued education and training in the field of reflexology is a passion of Cathy's and an important business value of Ebb & Flow Reflexology. Recent training has enabled Ebb & Flow Reflexology to expand our service offering. Read on to learn more:

Auricular (Ear) Reflexology

What is Auricular Reflexology?

The ear represents a micro-system of the body (just like the feet) with points on the ears for areas physical and emotional. Applying pressure to points on the ear can:

  • Release tension in the body and help to completely relax

  • Increase circulation

  • Increase blood flow, lymph and Qi

  • Make the eyes brighter

  • Benefit the ears themselves

What are ear seeds?

Ear seeds are created from the seed of the Vaccaria plant. The natural seeds are affixed to points on the ear with self-adhesive tape. When pressed, the seeds exert continuous mild pressure being amplified with finger tip pressure.

What Treatments are Offered?

  1. Head to Toe Reflexology Treatment: Begins with a relaxing epsom salt foot bath. Followed by a full ear treatment with 2 seeds placed based on assessment and clients needs. Next is a rejuvenating full hour treatment on the feet. This treatment is 90 minutes and $130

  2. Standard Ear Reflexology: Full ear treatment with 2 seeds placed based on assessment and clients needs. This treatment is 45 minutes and $60

Plantar Fasciitis

plantar fasciitis.jpg

What is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia). Ignoring plantar fasciitis may lead to foot, knee, hip and/or back problems.

What Treatments are Offered?

  1. Plantar Fasciitis Add-on to Reflexology Treatment: Addresses and relieves the pain associated with plantar fasciitis. This 30-minute treatment can be added on to a standard 60-minute reflexology treatment and is an additional $40

Feel relaxed and focused on your mental and physical health as you settle back into routine with a reflexology treatment. Reflexology increases circulation and brings the body to a relaxed state so you can have the rest you need to tackle the change in season and schedule. Our studio is recently refreshed, includes a warmer on the table, and a calming ambiance to melt your worries away.

Time to Celebrate - Reflexology could be covered by your insurance

  • Your insurance benefits could cover your next reflexology treatment! As more and more employers are recognizing the proven health benefits of reflexology, coverage of the treatment is rapidly expanding. Summer 2019 Newsletter

Services are expanding to include ear reflexology! While I practice this new technique and gain experience, I'm including it complimentary with a foot reflexology session for the months of July & August 2019. Mention you would like to try it at your next appointment!

Ear reflexology is the stimulation of the auricle of the external ear for health conditions in other parts of the body using specific hand and finger techniques.

Ear Seeding is where tiny seeds of the vaccaria plant are placed on key points of the ear using adhesive tape. Ear seeds can reduce headaches and back pain, as well as treat addiction and prevent cravings. Seeds can be kept in the ears for up to a week and can be stimulated by pressing on them. They can be easily removed at any time by the client.

2019 Reflexology Conference Halifax. April/May 2019

Halifax was a great success. I had the opportunity to meet and network with other like minded Reflexology Therapists, listened to some great international speakers on the science of Reflexology and the future of this healing modality. I took a workshop from David Wayte from the UK on Finger Free Reflexology which allows me to apply different pressure with different parts of my hands to preserve my sometimes overworked fingers and thumbs.

In the coming months I will be offering auricular therapy (ear reflexology) along with ear seeding to stimulate reflexes and offer another way to release tension in the body and improve circulation, which then gives the body a natural way to heal.

Serving as Secretary for the Reflexology Association of BC Chapter keeps me busy with other Directors helping spread the word and work of Reflexology and supporting all BC members. Our provincial AGM is coming up in June and looking forward again to connect to other BC members
